Transparent. Sustainable. Ethical.
In 2016, husband & wife team Preston and Mirjam started DINADI as a social mission for Nepali women affected by poverty and gender discrimination. Founded with the belief that social entrepreneurship and job creation are the way to bring lasting change to developing communities, DINADI was created and exists for the women they employ. They directly employ their hand knitters to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect. By offering them flexible work, living wages, health benefits, school tuition assistance, retirement savings, profit sharing and a social worker, they set them up with the tools for sustained stability and success.
Growing up, Preston & Mirjam were taught that our life choices make a difference in the world. This ethos extends to every aspect of DINADI. Using 100% natural fibers such as mulesing free merino wool, hand gathered yak down from a social enterprise on the Tibetan Plateau and natural and undyed alpaca wool from Peru, every beautifully designed garment is 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and completely free of plastic pollutants. All tags, products boxes, marketing materials and packaging are made from natural fibers. Using 98% of the yarn they order to produce their products, any yarn left over is used to sew on labels and attach hang tags, virtually eliminating waste.
