A family owned company that goes back nine generations, Riess was founded in Austria in 1550. They began enameling cookware in 1922 through 40 step process that is still done entirely by hand.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, Riess has been powering their manufacturing process using hydroelectric power from their own plants since 1926. The extra power produced is fed in to the grid, making their production carbon neutral. When choosing raw materials, they select providers with short transport routes who utilize environmentally friendly means of transport.
